Wedding Party

Lauren Lee
Lauren Lee - Maid of Honor
Hannah and Lauren met at Sunday Bible school when they were in the 3rd grade. Although they attended different schools until freshman year, their friendship grew from going to summer camp every year together, playing against each other’s soccer teams, and making their moms drive an hour each way so they could have sleepovers. Fast forward to high school, where the two were inseparable. From endless trips to their favorite hibachi restaurant and Sonic for JavaChillers, to traveling to Bolivia together, to sneaking out of the house on a whim because they heard Zac Efron was in town - only to return with a tub of ice cream and a story they would laugh about for years to come. Now, 23 years later, with Hannah engaged and Lauren with her newborn baby girl, they can truly say they have gone through everything together!
Kendra Dorn-Lambert
Kendra Dorn-Lambert - Bridesmaid
Hannah and Kendra met in high school environmental science class. They spent their summers working together at Island Essentials, grabbing lunch at Dairy Queen, and spending as many days as they could at the beach. No matter what they were doing, as long as they were together they knew they would have fun. From spending a week serving as a Governor’s Page, to binge watching all of the Saw movies in one night, to running cross country together and spending a week at Duke’s XC camp, their friendship knew no bounds. Kendra now lives in Asheville with her husband and daughter, which gives the two friends the chance for mini weekend vacations whenever they come to visit.
Summer Mathis
Summer Mathis - Bridesmaid
Summer and Hannah first met each other in Kindergarten and their friendship blossomed quickly, fueled by their shared love for adventure and mischief. In elementary school, they would call one another and plan to both start biking at the same time so they could meet halfway and then bike the rest of the way to each other’s house together - biking 3 miles one way. Over the years the two have shared countless trips together, never failing to get lost along the way, but always making sure to stop for Taco Bell. The girls would say they were "taking the scenic route”. From their innocent adventures to college shenanigans of running from the police on New Year's Eve, it is never a dull moment with these two. Whenever they see each other now, it’s like no time has passed and they can easily pick up where they left off.
Summer Allen
Summer Allen - Bridesmaid
Summer and Hannah met in the seventh grade when Summer and her family moved from Wilson to Emerald Isle, NC. Living just a few blocks away from each other they were always going on bike rides, carpooling for soccer practice, meeting up at the beach, or grabbing dinner at the local Mexican restaurant. In middle school Summer’s dad would be driving them around and the two girls would be texting each other and giggling in the back seat. Thank god for unlimited texting! They threw their 13th birthday party together since their birthdays are exactly one month apart and featured their favorite Mexican restaurant’s chips and queso fountain. Who doesn’t love unlimited cheese dip!? Over the years, they went on several trips together including Disney World, several cruises, and casual, turned not-so-casual, mountain weekends full of karaoke and dancing in hot tubs. In their adult life, they make sure to have just as much fun together as they did when they were young.
Mitchell Turner
Mitchell Turner - Best Man
Mitch and Michael first met shortly after graduating from college when Michael moved from Knoxville to Columbia, South Carolina. At this point in his adventure of life, Michael was not only away from many of his college friends and teammates, but also farther from his friends from back in Nashville. Luckily he played ultimate and the community in Columbia was extremely welcoming. Through this community he met Mitch, who just so happened to be looking for roommates. It was a match made in heaven as they both held many of the same interests. Five years of living together later Mitch moved to Ohio, but during that time they were inseparable, often mistaken for being “together”. It was actually a picture of Michael and Mitch from their friend Emery’s wedding that first caught Hannah’s attention in the beginning. Years later when Michael was looking for a new city to call home, Mitch offered up his spare bedroom and the adventure began again. While the second stint of living together was short lived during covid, it led to many game nights, pool drinking sessions, and lots of tv shows. During all this time there are countless stories to be reminisced on and Mitch is always quick to remind everyone of the stupid things Michael has done over the years. As a friend he has no comparison. He was there for all the good times, the bad times, and can always be counted on for being the life of the party, that is until he starts signing American Sign Language at you, but that’s a story for another time. For those who do not know Mitch, his qualities may appear to be meticulously planning birthdays and events, or being the social butterfly that brings groups together, or the guy you go to when you want to have a good time. Yet those that know him also know the other side, the person that everyone goes to when you need an honest opinion, the confidant who we unequivocally trust, and the person who when tasked with helping someone always follows through. When it came time to pick a best man, it was always known it would be Mitch.
Jacob Evans
Jacob Evans - Groomsman
Jacob and Michael met after both graduated from their respective schools and began working as “adults”, in Columbia, South Carolina. Though most of their time hanging out was outside of the ultimate frisbee scene, many of their friends in Columbia overlapped so they ended up spending a great deal of time together at house parties, at the bars, practice, and tailgating. After Jacob moved to Charlotte, Michael spent many weekends visiting and exploring the city or attending concerts, but the true test of their friendship came on a drive from Charlotte to Charlottesville, Virginia for a tournament. Hours in the car with nothing to do but talk, jam out, and prepare for a weekend of debauchery, it was clear that these guys were one in the same. By the end of the weekend it was abundantly clear that these two were cut from the same cloth, just sewed a little differently. It was just a few short months later and again they found themselves on the way to another tournament, this time in Hilton Head and with Justin, sleeping three wide in an Alaskan king bed together. From that point on The Clubhouse was born and 6 years later the group chat lives on. While Jacob lives in Tampa now, he is still an intrinsic part of Michael and his friends lives. If it’s not organizing virtual happy hours or game nights, he is always planning another trip to spend time with his boys. For years we have affectionately called Jacob, Big Daddy, and while many think this is because of his stature and presence, it’s actually because he is someone we can always count on to answer when you call, to call you out when you do something stupid, and to help you when you need it.
Justin Schroeder
Justin Schroeder - Groomsman
Michael and Justin first met back in high school in Franklin, Tennessee, but did not truly become friends until well into college when Michael started playing Ultimate at the University of Tennessee. Through the trials and tribulations of college ultimate, intramurals, and searching for the best fried chicken in Knoxville, they quickly realized they had many of the same interests, for better or for worse. One summer both Michael and Justin ended up staying in Knoxville to work and continue to take some classes, which seemed a very harmless proposition. Except this led to an absurd amount of playing video games, cookout trips, and full contact ultimate. A summer that has been fondly looked back on, but sworn never to be repeated. Over the years Michael and Justin shared laughs, hugs, arguments, make up hugs, hangovers, and sad goodbyes while going to countless tournaments, disc golf weekends, and music festivals. While living across the country from each other they have kept the friendship alive and strong through many nights of video games together or with Jacob and Mitch. For well over a decade Justin has been the yin to Michael’s yang.
Jackson Ayers
Jackson Ayers - Groomsman
Jackson and Michael met through Hannah after Michael had made the move from Cleveland back to the south and settled in Charleston. He was one of her best friends, and had always been there for her when she needed it. Through the catalyst of playing golf, going to the gym, and drinking beers all over town, the boys quickly became friends too. There has always been a healthy push back-and-forth between the two to become better versions of themselves and as they like to say, “be 1% better”. Jackson is always a person you can trust to be there when he says he is going to; like when Hannah needed to be taken to the hospital because Michael was on a boys weekend, he was there and kept her spirits up. Over the years it’s just become known that when they golf, it’s always Jackson and Mike together in the cart - smashing beers and losing balls. Over the years Jackson, Michael, and the rest of the Boys have been nearly inseparable and have been constants in each other's lives.
Collin Cope
Collin Cope - Officiant
Collin and Michael first met the summer after they graduated from the University of Tennessee, and as most male bonding goes, it started over a hat. Michael and one of his lifeguard coworkers were sitting at a favorite stomping ground, Cool Beans, enjoying some bushwhackers when Collin marched right into their lives with the confidence and vibrato only he could carry, and the rest is history. Since that summer they have stayed close friends and Collin even married that coworker, a story he loves to tell anyone whenever Michael and Brittany are around. While after college they continued to stay in touch only living an hour and a half apart it was not until Michael moved to Charleston full-time that the friendship became what it is today. Collin and his wife Brittany are part of the core group of friends that Michael and Hannah spend so much of their time with, and while our hobbies can differ, you can always find us getting a beer or glass of wine and talking about life. When Michael and Hannah first got engaged, one of the first decisions they made, even before figuring out a guest list, was that Collin was going to be the officiant. His command of a room, honest and gentle disposition, and his love of love made him an obvious choice.
